Hard Rock Live Orlando and AmericanAirlines Arena

When people think of popular Colombian singers, two naturally spring to mind. Ask a Colombian who is most celebrated back home and the answer won’t be Shakira, it will be Juanes_FIJuanes, who has sold over 15 million albums around the world since going solo fifteen years ago. The twenty-time Latin Grammy Award-winner (and two-time Grammy Award-winner) will be making two special tour stops in Florida to sing to his very excited fans. He will be at Hard Rock Live Orlando on Thursday, December 3 at 8 p.m. and at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on Friday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Juanes, born Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez, grew up in Medellin, Colombia. As a teenager, he started his own metal band, Ekhymosis, which quickly became popular throughout Colombia, releasing five studio albums. In 1998, he disbanded the group in order to go solo.

juanes2He released his first solo album, Fijate Bien (“Take a Good Look”) in 2000, earning him a Latin Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. His 2002 album Un Día Normal (“A Normal Day”) spent a record-breaking 92 weeks on Billboard’s Hot Latin Albums chart, spawning the wildly popular single “A Dios le Pido” (“To God I Pray”), which topped the singles charts in the U.S. and a dozen other countries.

His next three albums, Mi Sangre (“My Blood”), La Vida…Es Un Ratico (“Life is a Little Moment”), and P.A.R.C.E., all reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot Latin Albums charts. During this time, Juanes performed for heads of state, at the FIFA World Cup in Germany, and at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo, Norway. He also performed a controversial “Peace Concert” in Havana, Cuba. His most recent album, Loco de Amor (“Crazy in Love”) was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album.
