What's Happening Central Florida

Hey guys! Recently I was at the Straz Center in Tampa watching Motown: The Musical on opening night. If you haven’t seen it yet, please make a point to do so. The dancing was incredible and the music came to life on the stage…the lady who played Diana Ross was particularly memorable! This week is pretty busy: we have the return of Tampa Pride, AIDS Walk Orlando, RuPaul’s Drag Race Battle of the Seasons, and much more! So let me tell you what’s going on this week! Lots of love!

Thursday March 26

Be prepared for a star-studded weekend at Bradley’s on 7th in Tampa! Tonight there is the WHCF-3012_Thursdayamateur strip contest ($200 in cash goes to the winner)! Joey Brooks and Amanda D’rhod will be hosting. Friday night’s drag show will star Joey, Esme Russell and Felicity Lane, and then there’s a big reunion on Saturday! Remember Tracks? Former Tracks cast members will be performing on the same stage once more: Joey, Divinity Everlasting, Melanie Minyon, and Melissa Mason. Weekend showtimes are 11:30 p.m. and 1:15 a.m.

Friday March 27

If you’ve been to Parliament House in Orlando, chances are you’ve seen Miss Vicki working behind the bar closest to the pool. She is celebrating 35 years working at P-House and there will be a special party for her, complete with a fabulous drag show! This show will feature Tiffany Arieagus, Geraldine Jones, Von Gretchen, Addison Taylor and Wanda Woolworth. This party starts at 6 p.m. at the pool bar.

WHCF-3012_FridayThe Tampa Bay Jokers softball team is raising money so the team can compete throughout spring, and City Side is hosting a fundraiser called Jocks and Shots. Anita Margarita will be hosting and she will be raffling off quite a few fun items, culminating in a special “It’s Your Lucky Night Basket“! The winner of that basket will get lots of fun stuff like lottery tickets and a pass to ride on City Side’s Tampa Pride float! You can support this team by going to City Side; the fundraiser starts at 10 p.m.
