Happy St. Pete Pride Weekend! We have so many events this weekend that they are overflowing this column! Enjoy and be safe! Lots of love to you all!

Friday June 27

Flamingo Resort in St. Petersburg is starting off Pride weekend right with a poolside DJ from 6 whcf_fri_flamp.m. to 10 p.m., a mixer for hotel guests at 7 p.m., and a comedy drag show at 11 p.m. Stay tomorrow for a pool party which starts at noon and a daytime drag show at 3 p.m.! Want to see what the Flamingo is all about and haven’t had the chance yet? A trolley will be traveling from the Flamingo to Central Avenue from 5 p.m. on Saturday to 1 a.m.

Singer/songwriter Kim Roberts is coming back to City Side in Tampa to perform a special Pride show just two days before you can see her on the stage at St. Pete Pride. Be sure to get your seat just before she starts at 6 p.m.! Also, be sure to ask your City Side bartenders how to become a VIP and what that entails!

Saturday June 28

Did you know that The Garage on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg has special Pride hours? They will be open for business extra-early: at 10 a.m.! Party with them morning, noon, and night, until 3 a.m. Music will be provided Saturday and Sunday by DJ Bill.

whcf_sat_alibiGeorgie’s Alibi in St. Petersburg is hosting their official parade after party with music by DJ L Mo! The party starts once all the floats are gone from the Georgie’s parking lot and rocks on until 3 in the morning. At 10 p.m., American Idol season twelve finalists Amber Holcomb and Lazaro Arbos will sing their favorites for you!

Head on across the bay to Ybor City and have a good time at Bradley’s on 7th! Their special Pride show consists of hostess Joey Brooks, Robyn Demornay and Dulce Andrews! Want to know why I like Joey Brooks? Not only is she a fabulous performer, but no other queen I know will actually stop her show and pose for a group photo like she has! Remember, showtimes are always at 11:30 p.m. and at 1:15 a.m., and Bradley’s never charges cover.

Staying in Orlando and not heading over to Tampa Bay for Pride? Parliament House in Orlando is having a special “Back to the Eighties” party tonight! There will be three rooms playing ’80s music all night long! Also, watch the acclaimed Footlight Players in two special ’80s-themed shows, at 10 p.m. and midnight!

Another hot Orlando event is the leather night that BarCodes puts on every last Saturday of whcf_sat_barcodesthe month, hosted by Master Stephen from SubmissivePleasures.com. Enjoy the leather demonstrations starting at 9 p.m. Visit The Store @ BarCodes for all of your leather needs; you can no longer say you don’t own any leather when you have the chance to buy some!

Sunday June 29

Before you head to the festival, stop by Hamburger Mary’s Clearwater for a drag brunch! Their all you can eat buffet costs $12.95 and there are two drag shows, one at noon and one at 1:30 p.m.! Join Jocelyn Summers, Alicia Markstone, Trinity Taylor and a special guest as they perform for your tips and applause; everyone at the Clearwater location hopes your Pride weekend will be extra “Mary”! After St. Pete Pride’s festival is over, see a special show! Daphne Ferraro, whose work I really whcf_sun_daphneappreciate, has written and produced a show called The Evolution of Drag: Drag Through the Decades. This multi-media drag spectacular will feature Ferraro and 10 other queens! Tickets are $22 and you can buy them at the door. The show starts at 7 p.m. at the Freefall Theatre Company (6099 Central Ave., St. Petersburg).

If you liked performers Karmic Tattoo at the festival, follow them over to Oar House Bar in St. Petersburg for the Karmic Tattoo Wrap-Up Party! If you haven’t been to Oar House Bar yet, Sunday is a great day to do so. There’s a nice outdoor patio located in the shade, complete with its own bar, and on Sunday there’s free food cooked to order! The party at Oar House starts at 5 p.m.
